Dr. Michelle Froese serves as the Dean of Students within Student Affairs at the University of Missouri. In this capacity, she provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for a comprehensive portfolio of departments dedicated to student success, support and holistic well-being.

Strategic Leadership & Oversight

Dr. Froese is responsible for the direction of core university units that define the beyond-the classroom experience at Mizzou, including:

  • Support & Advocacy: Care Team, Basic Needs Support, Student At-Risk Committee and the Disability Center
  • Accountability & Integrity: Office of Student Accountability & Support and serves as the Chancellor-appointed Equity Appellate Officer.
  • Community Connection: Mizzou Families and First-Generation Initiatives

 

Commitment to Student Thriving

A dedicated advocate for the “student-first” experience, Dr. Froese supports the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs in executing the university’s strategic priority to increase student belonging and engagement. Her tenure has been marked by a commitment to accessible support, notably evidenced by her work in expanding the Care Team to include a basic needs coordinator—ensuring that students have the foundational resources necessary to excel academically.

Academic & Professional Background

Beyond her administrative duties, Dr. Froese remains deeply connected to the academic mission of the university. She serves as an instructor for the Chancellor’s Leadership Class and collaborates closely with the Novak Leadership Institute to foster student leadership development.

 

Dr. Froese earned her doctorate from the University of Missouri, grounding her professional leadership in a deep understanding of the Mizzou community and a long-standing commitment to Student Affairs.
